Electric Vehicle Charging Points

There are plans for new rapid charge points for electric cars across locations in Wiltshire thanks to £225,000 of Government funding allocated to Wiltshire Council.

The electric charging points allow owners of electric vehicles the opportunity to visit, pass through or commute to Wiltshire.

A new charging point has already been installed at Bradford on Avon railway station. Further charging points are to be installed at Chippenham, Westbury and Trowbridge stations during 2014.

The plan is for rapid charge points - which only take around 30 minutes to charge most vehicles to 80 percent - to be installed.

For more information please contact Wiltshire Council on (0300) 456 0100 or visit to email the Council.

Burbage Lifts

An initiative has been launched in Burbage, near Marlborough, to encourage people to car share after a local woman became fed up with the amount of single-person traffic from Burbage. The scheme is aimed not only at car drivers but bus users too so they can share a car if a bus does not run at the time they need to reach their destination.

To join the scheme, follow @Burbagelifts on Twitter.
