General Description  

Pre-bookable services (e.g. shopper bus services)

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday - to Ramsbury and Wanborough Doctors Surgery 

Who can be carried:  For patients of the Surgery who find it difficult to attend medical appointments because of access to transport

Are these services door to door? No although the bus will pick up and drop off patients back to central points within Ramsbury and the surrounding villages (as advised after passengers have booked?)

Which areas are served?  Local villages, including Ramsbury, Baydon, Adbourne, Axford, Mildenhall, Froxfield and Chilton Foliat

Wheelchair access:  No

Cost:  The services are paid for by the Surgery, although the services require funds to operate and a volunteer driver to drive . Passengers can make a donation towards the cost of the journey ( envelopes available at the Surgery)

Bus Passes accepted:  No

Timetable:  Every Tuesday and Thursday. The times that the services operate will depend on when appointments are required. Passengers simply need to request to the Surgery reception staff that they require transport when booking appointments at the Surgery.   • Second Thursday of each month  - to Newbury

Timetable:  Second Thursday of each month.Leaves Ramsbury Square at 11.30am and picks up from Back Lane, Axford, Ramsbury High Street and Aldbourne

  • First and Third Wednesday of each month - Bingo in Axford

Timetable: Leaving Chilton Foliat at 1pm (booking required – please call (01672) 520555), Ramsbury 1.10pm and Aldbourne 1.25pm, returning from Marlborough at 2.40pm.

Vehicle available / seats: Peugeot Boxer (not wheelchair accessible) / 14 passenger seats

Type of groups that can be carried: Local organisations and individuals.

Geographical area bookings accepted from:  Ramsbury, Axford and nearby villages. Other areas by negotiation.

Cost:  Non refundable deposit of £20 + 70p per mile (inclusive of fuel). For more information please contact (01672) 520555. Please be aware that bookings depend on availability of a volunteer driver.

Driver restrictions: Drivers need to be aged 25-70, with no more than 3 points on their licence. If drivers have not driven the group’s minibus (the Flyer) before, they will need to have a short familiarisation with a member of the Ramsbury Community Bus committee.
